Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Horseshoe Bend's Winning Streak

If Horseshoe Bend was feeling good fresh off their 55-30 takedown of Dadeville last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Horseshoe Bend Generals took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wadley Bulldogs on Friday. The Generals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Frisco Robertson had a dynamite game for Wadley, going 13 of 21 en route to 35 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Demon Spraddling, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Horseshoe Bend moved to 6-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Wadley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horseshoe Bend will venture away from home to take on Loachapoka at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wadley will take on Winterboro in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
