Baseball Game Preview: Hubbertville Lions vs. Lynn Bears

The Hubbertville Lions will take on the Lynn Bears on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hubbertville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Coosa Christian. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Cruz Kizzire made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Kizzire was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Cole Brand and Tucker Bowen did most of the damage at the plate: Brand went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Bowen went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Carter Brand was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Lynn won against Covenant Christian on Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Bears' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 10-0 shutout.

Lynn's victory bumped their record up to 20-10. As for Hubbertville, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.

Hubbertville beat Lynn 6-1 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
