Basketball Game Preview: Three Rivers Wildcats vs. Paw Paw Red Wolves

The Three Rivers Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Paw Paw Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Three Rivers came up short against Otsego on Tuesday, falling 52-28. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 103rd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Paw Paw). They were the clear victor by a 77-57 margin over Niles on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Red Wolves in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won seven in a row.

Paw Paw's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Three Rivers, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Three Rivers lost to Paw Paw on the road by a decisive 68-50 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Three Rivers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
