Soccer Game Preview: Murray vs. Stansbury

Murray is a perfect 4-0 against Stansbury since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Spartans will face off against the Stallions at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Murray is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Park City by a score of 3-1. Given Murray's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked third, while Park City are ranked 47th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Stansbury won against Ridgeline last Tuesday with one goal and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Tuesday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Stallions who were credited with the victory. Stansbury got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Green Canyon's four. The win made it back-to-back victories for Stansbury.

Stansbury's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Murray, their victory bumped their record up to 18-0.

Murray skirted past Stansbury 1-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Stallions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
