Football Game Preview: Parkview Vikings vs. Mt. Vernon Mountaineers

The Parkview Vikings will face off against the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Vernon took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Parkview, who comes in off a win.

Parkview played against Hayti on Friday and won via forfeit.

On Friday, Mt. Vernon came up short against Cassville and fell 39-28.

Mt. Vernon dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.5 points over those games. As for Parkview, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Parkview was taken down by Mt. Vernon 49-18 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Vikings were down 28-6.
