            Volleyball Recap: Hartford Orioles vs. Port Washington Pirates        
        
		
        
        
            
After flying high against Whitefish Bay  on Tuesday, Hartford came back down to earth. The Orioles took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Port Washington Pirates on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Orioles of the  3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in September of 2024.
 Hartford was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Port Washington work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-18, 24-26,  25-22.
 Avery Dornfeldt paced Hartford's offense, picking up 14 kills. Dornfeldt got some help from  Lydia Krasselt and her 21 assists.  Brielle Brandner controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Port Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Emersyn Loose, who  had 18  digs and five  assists. That's the most  digs  Loose has posted  over her last 12  matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sierra Hoeft, who  had 26  assists and four  digs.
Hartford has  been struggling recently as they've  lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record  this season. As for Port Washington, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-9 record  this season.
 Hartford will venture away from home to  challenge Homestead  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Port Washington, they will be taking part in a tournament against Plymouth  at 8:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
