Baseball Recap: Fort Morgan Comes Up Short

Fort Morgan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sterling Tigers. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Luis Hernandez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Fort Morgan saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Chisum, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another was Miguel Davila, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Fort Morgan now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Sterling, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Fort Morgan will take on Alameda at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sterling, they will challenge Brush at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
