Softball Game Preview: Anderson Cubs vs. Yreka Miners

Anderson is 0-10 against Yreka since May of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Cubs will head out to challenge the Miners at 4:30 p.m.

Anderson played against Yreka on Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

Kaelynn DeBortoli made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. DeBortoli was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Yreka let Macey Howell and Emmie Freitas run wild. Howell went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI, while Freitas went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Yreka kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Anderson is on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14. As for Yreka, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-19.
