The biggest upset of the week belonged to Indian Rocks Christian, who defeated 312th ranked Carrollwood Day, 14-6. Damian King ran for 89 yards and caught 4 passes for 34 yards in the win.
The Golden Eagles' King rumbled for the longest rushing play in 2A District 5 this season in his game against the Patriots last week.
Sinclair Laskett was the best receiver in the league this week as Bradenton Christian beat Cambridge Christian. Laskett tallied 6 receptions for 136 yards. Wade Carter helped Bradenton Christian's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 11 yards.
Zeke McGaughy was the best running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 101 yards as Indian Rocks Christian beat the Lancers.
Garrett Young put up the best numbers through the air as Cambridge Christian fell to Bradenton Christian. He finished with 11 completions for 228 yards. Young's favorite target this week was Nick Stein, who caught 3 passes for 112 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Parker Holland of Keswick Christian is the league leader in passing yards this season with 285. He has also thrown 2 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Trevor Smith. The Cambridge Christian star has 7 catches for 155 yards.
As it stands, the Crusaders are in fifth, while Canterbury is in first.
Mark Buchanan's team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in 2A District 5. Earlier in the week, the Golden Eagles triumphed over Carrollwood Day 14-6.
