Baseball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bladensburg last Saturday, Northwestern came back down to earth. Northwestern lost 14-2 to the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders on Monday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Alberto Weaver made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Jonathan Sanchez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.
