Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Gunnison Valley

In Tuesday's Canine Competition, Gunnison Valley came out on top. They blew past the North Sevier Wolves 10-0 on Tuesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Daxton Knudsen, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Porter Comin, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Gunnison Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Sevier only posted an OBP of .263.

The victory was the third in a row for Gunnison Valley, bringing their record up to 15-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for North Sevier, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

North Sevier has already played their next match, a 13-3 victory against North Summit on the 23rd. Hopefully Gunnison Valley paid attention to the Wolves' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
