Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Orestimba's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Enochs, Orestimba was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Sonora Wildcats get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Warriors have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Natalie Corella was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Sophia Machado was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Orestimba is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Sonora, they dropped their record down to 5-16 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Orestimba will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
