Keystone Oaks entered their tilt with McGuffey on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Highlanders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Eagles have posted since May 8, 2024.

Kennadi Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nina Buckley was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Kailyn Brannon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Keystone Oaks now has a winning record of 6-5. As for McGuffey, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Highlanders beat Keystone Oaks by a score of 11-6 later that day.
