Baseball Game Preview: Clemente Wildcats vs. Argo Argonauts

The Clemente Wildcats will square off against the Argo Argonauts at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Clemente and ten for Argo dating back to last season.

Clemente lost 18-6 to Kenwood on Wednesday.

Clemente saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Serrano, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Serrano has posted since back in April of 2024. Keyvert Gonzalez was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Argo scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Bloom, falling 15-9.

Valente Melero made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Daniel Padilla also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Clemente's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Argo, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Argo's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Clemente hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338.
