Basketball Preview: North DeSoto Griffins vs. Minden Crimson Tide
North DeSoto is 0-10 against the Crimson Tide since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The North DeSoto Griffins will head out on the road to face off against the Minden Crimson Tide at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
North DeSoto has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were dealt a 83-35 loss at the hands of Huntington on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, North DeSoto can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Raiders are ranked fourth).
While Minden couldn't quite beat the Lions on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 39-point defeat they were dealt last Friday. Minden fell just short of the Lions by a score of 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
North DeSoto's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Minden, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
North DeSoto came up short against the Crimson Tide in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 51-41. Can North DeSoto avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
