Baseball Recap: River Valley Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After only one run in their last contest, River Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Cuba City on Monday. The Blackhawks came out on top against the Cubans by a score of 11-7. This was payback for the Blackhawks, who suffered a 9-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Quincy Blakley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Blakley was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

River Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

River Valley's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13. As for Cuba City, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Valley will take on Platteville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cuba City, they will challenge Darlington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
