Preview: Perry Panthers vs. Indian Valley Braves
After three games on the road, Perry is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Indian Valley Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Perry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 480th, while Indian Valley is ranked 106th).
Last Friday, Perry might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Green an easy 56-34 victory. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Perry has scored all season.
Despite their defeat, Perry saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Drake Jacobsen, who scored nine points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Dazey, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Perry struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Indian Valley waltzed into their matchup Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 59-52 victory over John Glenn.
Perry's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Indian Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
