Basketball Recap: New Lexington Takes a Loss

New Lexington lost against West Muskingum back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tornadoes. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Loss or not, New Lexington got some senior leadership from Chloe Dick and Makenzy McCoy. Dick shot 56% from the field on her way to 15 points and five rebounds, while McCoy posted six points and seven steals. The game was Dick's fourth in a row with at least 15 points.

New Lexington now has a losing record of 2-3. As for West Muskingum, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Lexington will welcome Philo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Muskingum, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Warren at 7:30 p.m.
