Recap: Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs vs. Phoenix Country Day Eagles

The Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 61-16 loss at the hands of Phoenix Country Day. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rancho Solano Prep has scored all season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Rancho Solano Prep struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Phoenix Country Day racked up 15 assists.

Leading Phoenix Country Day to victory were Aila Kaibara and Olivia Owens. Kaibara scored 13 points along with eight assists and four steals, while Owens scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Owens is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Gordon, who scored 11 points.

Rancho Solano Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Phoenix Country Day, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rancho Solano Prep will take on the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Phoenix Country Day, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Heat at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Madison Highland Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Eagles are ranked 19th).
