Soccer Game Preview: Maiden vs. Bandys

Maiden hasn't had much luck against Bandys recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will host the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Maiden's offense. They fell 2-0 to Hickory on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Maiden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Hickory are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Bandys was not quite North Lincoln's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. Bandys have struggled against North Lincoln recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Bandys' defeat dropped their record down to 8-5-1. As for Maiden, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Maiden suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Bandys in their previous matchup back in September. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Blue Devils were down 8-1.
