Softball Recap: Three Straight Road Victories for Manchester

Manchester won the last time they faced Ocean Lakes and things went their way on Friday too. Manchester walked away with a 6-1 win over Ocean Lakes.

Cam Winiarski was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, Emma Newsom was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Manchester's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Ocean Lakes, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Manchester will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Clover Hill at 5:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Ocean Lakes, they will face off against Bayside at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
