Volleyball Recap: The Woodlands Victorious

The Woodlands won the last time they faced Brandeis and things went their way on Thursday too. The Highlanders walked away with a 2-0 win over the Broncos. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Highlanders.

Alexandra ?Sasha? Bespaly paced The Woodlands' offense, picking up six kills. Bespaly got some help from Megan Johnson and her ten assists. Johnson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Despite the defeat, Brandeis saw an underclassman step up: freshman Adalin Gutierrez had 11 digs. Gutierrez has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

The Woodlands' record is now 6-7. As for Brandeis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

The Woodlands wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Cathedral Catholic on the 28th. As for Brandeis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Vandegrift on the 28th.
