Baseball Recap: Roger Bacon Beats Taylor for Their Third Straight Victory

Roger Bacon entered their tilt with Taylor on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Yellowjackets. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Kyle Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Roger Bacon is undefeated when Miller posts three or more RBI, but 6-12 otherwise. De'Vion Gipson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Roger Bacon's record now sits at 9-12. As for Taylor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roger Bacon will take on Reading in a tournament on Wednesday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Taylor, they will be taking part in a tournament against New Richmond at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
