Basketball Recap: Charvel White Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Perris

Aveson Global Leadership Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Perris on Monday. The Aveson Global Leadership Academy Avengers had just enough and edged the Perris Panthers out 59-57. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Avengers.

Aveson Global Leadership Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Charvel White out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Damondre Jenkins, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 19 points.

Aveson Global Leadership Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Perris, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-9 record.

Aveson Global Leadership Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Covina at 12:00 p.m. on January 18, 2025. As for Perris, they will host Hemet at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Hemet knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Perris likes a good challenge.
