Volleyball Recap: Belvidere Comes Up Short

Belvidere was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs.

Riverside-Brookfield found their leader in sophomore Gianfranco Crancich, who had five aces and three digs. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Crancich. Jesus Jimenez also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Belvidere's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Riverside-Brookfield, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Belvidere wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against New Trier on the 11th. As for Riverside-Brookfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Willowbrook on the 12th.
