Volleyball Game Preview: Johnston Panthers vs. Toll Gate Titans

The Johnston Panthers will square off against the Toll Gate Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Johnston is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: South Kingstown, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Johnston was ranked 20th). The Panthers fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Toll Gate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against Central Falls, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-21.

Toll Gate's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Johnston, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Johnston skirted past Toll Gate 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
