Basketball Recap: Normandy Takes a Loss

Normandy lost against Principia on February 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Normandy Vikings were beaten by the Principia Panthers 84-50. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Panthers are ranked fifth).

Normandy's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Principia, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Normandy will take on Clayton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Principia, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Burroughs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Principia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 contests -- so hopefully Burroughs likes a good challenge.
