Basketball Game Preview: Hatch Valley Bears vs. Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers

Hatch Valley hasn't had much luck against Mesilla Valley Christian School recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Hatch Valley ended up a good deal behind Chaparral and lost 62-48.

Despite the loss, Hatch Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alex Dominguez dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Dominguez is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Mesilla Valley Christian School lost 67-47 to Texico on Saturday.

Mesilla Valley Christian School's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Hatch Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Hatch Valley suffered a grim 63-43 defeat to Mesilla Valley Christian School when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
