Basketball Game Preview: Capuchino Mustangs vs. San Mateo Bearcats

The Capuchino Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the San Mateo Bearcats at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.

Last Wednesday, Capuchino was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-53 to Terra Nova. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, San Mateo came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Rams as they made off with a 61-36 win. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

San Mateo is also on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Capuchino, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Capuchino was dealt a bruising 72-37 defeat at the hands of San Mateo in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Capuchino avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
