Baseball Recap: Seagoville Extends Winning Streak to Three

Seagoville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spruce Timberwolves a 10-0 shutout. The Dragons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Timberwolves, too.

Carlos Silva made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Ruben Ramon was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Seagoville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-11-1 otherwise. Isaak Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Seagoville's victory bumped their record up to 4-11-1. As for Spruce, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Seagoville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Timberwolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
