Volleyball Recap: Anjali Vemuri and Avani Vemuri Secure Win for Grace Academy

Grace Academy waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the GVCS Broadfording Lions 3-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-0 win back in September.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Grace Academy took every set by at least 19 points. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-6, 25-6.

Leading Grace Academy to victory were Avani Vemuri and Anjali Vemuri. Avani had 20 assists and four aces, while Anjali had five digs and five aces. What's more, Anjali posted two assists, the most she's had over her last nine matches.

They weren't the only good servers: Grace Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.

Grace Academy's victory bumped their record up to 21-3. As for GVCS Broadfording, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Coming up, Grace Academy will face off against Heritage Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. GVCS Broadfording does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
