Football Recap: Nekoosa Sets Scoring Season-High Against Wisconsin Dells

Nekoosa's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wisconsin Dells Chiefs 38-35. The Papermakers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jacob Bertling produced another solid performance rushing for 126 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Owen Hoogesteger also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Nekoosa's defensive line and their four sacks. Caleb Burch refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

Nekoosa's record now sits at 2-6. As for Wisconsin Dells, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
