Basketball Recap: Mize Comes Up Short

Mize lost to Heidelberg two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bulldogs were beaten by the Oilers 57-27. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-18.

It was another big night for Mariyah Farrell, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 15 points along with eight steals and five assists for Heidelberg. Farrell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Da'Kyla Laphand, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Mize's loss dropped their record down to 11-16-1. As for Heidelberg, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Looking ahead, Mize and Enterprise will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Mize is facing Enterprise at the right time seeing as Enterprise is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Heidelberg, they and Bay Springs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
