Volleyball Recap: Sierra Vista Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Casteel

Sierra Vista is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Casteel. The Sierra Vista Mountain Lions fell 2-0 to the Casteel Colts. The loss was the Mountain Lions' first of the season.

Regi Beshiri paced Sierra Vista's offense, picking up eight kills. Beshiri got some help from Isaiah Misailegalu and his six assists. Beshiri also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Ben La, racking up two apiece.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sierra Vista fell to 2-1. As for Casteel, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Sierra Vista has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Palo Verde on the 1st. As for Casteel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Basic on the 1st.
