Volleyball Recap: Springfield Southeast's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Springfield Southeast walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Lanphier Lions 2-1 on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.

Springfield Southeast was led to victory by Parker Maxey and Josey Grant. Maxey had 31 assists and five digs, while Grant had ten digs and one assist. Those 31 assists gave Maxey a new career-high.

Springfield Southeast's victory bumped their record up to 7-21. As for Lanphier, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-27 record this season.

Springfield Southeast has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Morton on the 28th. Lanphier does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
