Baseball Game Preview: Fleming Colonels vs. Lord Botetourt Cavaliers

Fleming hasn't had much luck against Lord Botetourt recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Colonels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cavaliers at 4:00 p.m. Fleming has given up an average of 17 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fleming is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 29th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 20-1 to Northside.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lord Botetourt's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pulaski County on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Cavaliers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lord Botetourt saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Kish, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Fleming's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Lord Botetourt, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Fleming might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Lord Botetourt in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Colonels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
