Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Common Eagles vs. Highland Huskies

Liberty Common and Highland are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Liberty Common Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Highland Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Liberty Common, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Liberty Common didn't have too much trouble with Stargate School as they won 37-22. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Liberty Common.

Meanwhile, Highland played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Eaton, falling 57-36. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Reds recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Highland's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-5. As for Liberty Common, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Liberty Common might still be hurting after the 46-21 loss they got from Highland in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Highland's Briza Flores, who went 9 for 16 on her way to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Now that Liberty Common knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
