Softball Game Preview: Taft Toreadors vs. El Camino Real Royals

Taft is 0-10 against El Camino Real since April of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Toreadors will take on the Royals at 3:00 p.m.

Taft is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Granada Hills Charter on Friday. They lost 8-2 to the Highlanders.

Meanwhile, El Camino Real got the win against Cleveland on Friday by a conclusive 9-2. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Remy Glassman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, El Camino Real got a massive performance out of Nerissa Winokur, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Sarah Delgado, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for El Camino Real, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.

Taft might still be hurting after the 16-2 loss they got from El Camino Real in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Toreadors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
