Gridley hadn't done well against Colusa recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Gridley Bulldogs skirted past the Colusa RedHawks 5-4. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 12-7 victory the RedHawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Gridley's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aceson Gomez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Gridley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Colusa, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gridley will challenge Red Bluff at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Gridley has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Colusa, they will face off against Woodland Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Woodland Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
