Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Presidents vs. Wallkill Panthers

The Roosevelt Presidents will head out on the road to take on the Wallkill Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Roosevelt blew Red Hook out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Red Hook got their revenge. The Presidents fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 6-4.

New Paltz hit Wallkill with a four-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers fell 7-3 to the Huguenots. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Connor Bleichner made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Anthony Daley also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Wallkill, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Roosevelt couldn't quite finish off Wallkill when the teams last played on April 9th and fell 7-5. Can the Presidents avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
