Softball Recap: Hobbs Triumphs

Hobbs's game back in February was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with an 11-6 win over the Organ Mountain Knights. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Knights on their field since May 10, 2019.

Destiny Chavarria spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Kaiya Boyle was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Edyth Chavez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

The victory got Hobbs back to even at 1-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Organ Mountain beat Hobbs by a score of 14-13 later that day.
