The Heritage Hills Patriots will square off against the Warren East Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Heritage Hills 3.7, Warren East 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Friday, Heritage Hills needed a bit of extra time to put away Hancock County. They had just enough and edged out the Hornets 8-7. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mia Kiegel made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haley Fisher, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Sierra Wargel, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Warren East came up short against Oldham County on Friday and fell 5-2. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Colonels recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Kenzie Upton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Heritage Hills' victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Warren East, their loss dropped their record down to 19-8.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Heritage Hills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Warren East struggles in that department as they've averaged .349. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Heritage Hills couldn't quite get it done against Warren East in their previous meeting back in May of 2019 as they fell 3-0. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
