Basketball Recap: Mt. Vernon Comes Up Short

Mt. Vernon lost against Aurora back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mt. Vernon Mountaineers had to suffer through a 56-26 loss at the hands of the Aurora Houn Dawgs. The match marked the Mountaineers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mt. Vernon has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Aurora, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing McDonald County the next time they take the court. Aurora will host McDonald County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Mt. Vernon will host them at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
