Basketball Game Preview: Cumberland Academy Knights vs. Hawkins Hawks

Having just played yesterday, the Cumberland Academy Knights will jump right back in to play the Hawkins Hawks at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Cumberland Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with five straight losses, while Hawkins will come in with four straight victories.

Cumberland Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Grace Community on Thursday. The game between Cumberland Academy and Grace Community didn't end well, with Cumberland Academy falling 52-33.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Hawkins took on Harmony last Thursday. Hawkins put the hurt on Harmony with a sharp 53-29 win. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.

Hawkins pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Cumberland Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Things could have been worse for Cumberland Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-35 loss to Hawkins in their previous matchup back in November. Can Cumberland Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
