Basketball Recap: Tipton-Rosemark Academy Comes Up Short

Tipton-Rosemark Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-34 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fayette Academy Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 29-24 back in January.

Abbi Tucker had a dynamite game for Fayette Academy, going 7 of 17 en route to 20 points in addition to six boards and six steals. Those 20 points gave Tucker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison McNabb, who posted a point along with nine rebounds and five steals.

Tipton-Rosemark Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Fayette Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-18.

Tipton-Rosemark Academy and Fayette Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Tipton-Rosemark Academy (ranked 380th) will meet University School of Jackson (ranked 35th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Fayette Academy will take on Jackson Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 226 places (348 vs. 122).
