Basketball Game Preview: Lovett Lions vs. Mount Paran Christian Eagles

The Lovett Lions will head out on the road to take on the Mount Paran Christian Eagles on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Lovett is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They secured a 58-52 W over Athens Academy. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Spartans are ranked 346th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mount Paran Christian came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Wolves 66-51.

Lovett has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. As for Mount Paran Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 18-13.
