Lamar scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 90-83 to the Bowie Volunteers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (61), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Lamar lost, don't look at Ke'Dren Washington. Despite the final result, he posted 31 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Washington a new career-high in points. Logan Archibald was another key player, putting up 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Lamar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Lamar's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-23. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points over those games. As for Bowie, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-11.

Looking ahead, Lamar will head out on the road to square off against Grand Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lamar has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bowie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Grand Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in South Grand Prairie's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.
