Baseball Recap: Tinley Park Comes Up Short

Lemont hit Tinley Park with a five-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans fell just short of the Lemont HS by a score of 7-6. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Lemont HS recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Johnny Vasquez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Danny Weed was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Tinley Park's loss dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Lemont, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 25-5-1.

While Tinley Park had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
