Baseball Game Preview: Sandy Pioneers vs. Nelson

For the second straight game, Sandy will face off against Nelson. The Pioneers will be playing at home against Nelson at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sandy has four straight wins, Nelson has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Sandy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Nelson.

The team relied heavily on Cooper Hibbs, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Nate Reel also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Sandy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Nelson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
