Soccer Game Preview: Collinsville vs. Geraldine

The Collinsville Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Geraldine Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Collinsville's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Whitesburg Christian Academy 10-0. The result was nothing new for Collinsville, who have now won nine games by four goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Whitesburg Christian Academy from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Jan Segura led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Geraldine entered their tilt with Glencoe on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 7-2 victory.

Geraldine's win bumped their record up to 6-7-2. As for Collinsville, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2-1.

Collinsville took their win against Geraldine in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 6-2 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
